Assistant Principal Report

End of term assembly

It is very pleasing to write this report after another successful student-led end-of-term assembly yesterday. Zach Bissett and Anna Harper scheduled a jam-packed assembly with a variety of performances and celebrations to keep everyone’s interest for the duration.

Highlights included:

  • Celebrating the outstanding academic achievements of our VM students, a true testament to their hard work and dedication.
  • Mr Dempsey's captivating Chelo performance and inspiring journey to become an educator, as shared in an interview with Anna, left us all in awe of his passion and dedication.
  • The musical performance by Aaron Carter on vocals, Wesley Ferdinands on lead guitar, Josh Davies on bass guitar and Jacob Long, our percussion teacher, doing what he does best, drumming!
  • A delightful showcase of popular dances through the ages, skilfully performed by our dedicated staff

As the term break approaches, I want to emphasise the importance of sustained studying for our VCE students during this period. While taking a break and recharge is essential, maintaining consistent study and revision habits will ensure thorough preparation for exams and contribute to achieving academic goals. Remembering that hard work and dedication will yield long-term benefits is crucial.

During the first week of the school holidays, we are co-hosting the Knox Revision Program for Year 12 students attending a Knox Government Secondary School. This is being held at the Knox Community Centre in Bayswater on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. All presenters are experienced VCAA assessors offering our students advice and strategies on how to best prepare for and answer questions relating to their subject area.

Orion Night – Thursday 12 December, 2024.

This event holds significant importance on our calendar as it provides an opportunity to celebrate our students' academic and co-curricular achievements. Additionally, the evening will feature some wonderful student-led musical performances for everyone to enjoy.
