Staff Profile
Veronica Kenneally
Hello! I’m Veronica, and I joined Scoresby Secondary College this year as a Science and Biology teacher.
My journey to this point here has been quite the adventure, moving between places like Western Australia, Sydney, and eventually back to Melbourne where I finished VCE in Ringwood.
I studied Veterinary Bioscience at Monash and worked as a vet nurse in Mitcham and later as an animal technician in Nhill.
Whilst working hands-on with animals and people, I discovered my love for the teaching side of my job- explaining ideas, mentoring others, and sparking curiosity (especially for anything biology-related!).
That passion for teaching pushed me to return to Monash to study a Master of Teaching and my initial placements quickly confirmed that I had made the right choice.
After graduating I took a job teaching English in Tokyo, Japan. It was an unforgettable experience that showed me new perspectives and ideas in teaching. But as much as I loved living in Japan, I missed my family back home in Ringwood and I couldn’t be more excited to continue my teaching journey here at Scoresby.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me trying to finish the latest book before my local book club meetup or playing games with family or friends.
I also love spending summer at Phillip Island and occasionally participating in sailing races.
I can’t wait to share my passion for biology and science with the students and be part of this great community!
