What an exciting day! For some children, it was their first time on a bus and first visit to a farm. After a safety chat, we loaded onto the bus and began our adventure.
We began the day with a picnic snack in the shed. We met a few cheeky goats, some huge pigs and a Maremma dog named Condo who was guarding the sheep and lambs.
Next, we learnt how to milk a cow.
The baby nursery was hands on fun , with guinea pigs, rabbits, baby goats, a calf, sheep and a lizard in a tank. Meeting a newborn goat was very special!
The children were very excited about the tractor ride around the farm. So much fun!
We went on a feeding walk. Each child got handfuls of dried food to feed the animals as we walked around. We saw goats, kangaroos (one with a joey in her pouch) sheep, lots of deer, a camel and ostrich.
We also watched a sheepdog named Scout round up some sheep. He was so clever!! These dogs respond to 3 languages- voice, hand signal and whistle.
What a fun filled adventure day!!! Wonderful memories were made. We hope you enjoyed the photos and videos. Thank you to our helpers Suzie and Jane.
