Mrs Audrey Fellowes - Deputy Principal/Head of Primary
On Wednesday 2 October, our Year 2 students visited Bunyaville Environmental Education Centre and explored the water cycle, the journey water takes in our catchments, the landforms and features associated with catchments.
Students also investigated catchment care and how they can play their part in water conservation. They had a great time interacting with a replica catchment and a water education station.
Our guides led Year 2 on a bush walk through a real catchment in Bunyaville Conservation Park to identify evidence of real trails left by water. As well as experiencing where the water cycle takes place, students experienced the real-life scale and landform components of a catchment. It was a great day out and a wonderful learning experience.

The Indigenous Literacy Foundation provide books, books in First Languages, and learning resources to children and families living in remote communities across Australia.
In Term 4, the Green Team are holding a pre-loved book sale, with all proceeds going to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. This is a great opportunity for students to support a charity, read new books and learn about the value of recycling.
If you have any children’s books that you have finished reading but are still in good condition, please leave them in the boxes outside 2W (Room 122). Donations will be collected in Weeks 1 and 2 of Term 4 and will be available to purchase outside Primary Admin each morning during Weeks 3 and 4. Books will cost 50c each, or 3 for $1.
We hope you can help us to support this worthy cause.

As Captains, our hope is that we can contribute to the wider community to which Clayfield College belongs and show compassion and care to those around us. We are excited to announce that we have chosen Ronald McDonald House Charities as our charity to support this year!
Ronald McDonald House provides a safe, temporary home for families with sick children in the Queensland Children’s Hospital. They rely on communities such as ours to provide a range of essential items for these families.
Items needed include clothing, toys, activity books, toiletry packs, pens & notebooks, chocolates or lollies, and supermarket or department store gift cards. Boxes will be provided in each classroom for your donations.
*Please note that items must be brand new, as Ronald McDonald House Charities cannot accept second-hand items due to safety regulations.
Thank you so much for your support. We can’t wait to see our Primary School making an impact on the lives of families in our wider community!
