Reflection 

September 14 is the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross

Jesus has taken the symbol of death and humiliation, the cross, and transformed it into a sign of love and salvation. The example of Jesus accepting his cross gives us the strength and courage to carry our own.

O God,

through your great love for humanity,

the cross of Christ has become

the source of life for all believers.

May we who believe

in the power of Christ's cross

experience its saving effects in our lives.

Help us to carry our own crosses everyday

and recognise in them the path to holiness.

Through Christ our Lord.

Amen
