SPORTS HIGHLIGHTS

Individual Highlights:

  • Congratulations to Ashton Carney, who recently won the HMB Junior Golf Championships. He played exceptionally well over the 2-day competition.

  • Congratulations to Darna Ziegler, Zoe Stevens, and Charlotte Jonsen, who recently competed in the State Netball titles. All three ladies played exceptionally well at the four-day championships—a huge congratulations to Charlotte Jonsen, who was selected into the U19 QLD squad.

Run Squad:

The St Mary's Run Squad wrapped up Term 3 with a training session at Copperlode.

Students embraced the challenge of running to the first lookout—2km straight up a hill! They were rewarded with an amazing sunrise and view over Cairns. Run Squad continues this term, meeting at the bike racks at 7:00 a.m. every Tuesday. All students are welcome!

Swimming Carnival:

What a fantastic day at the Woree pool for the Swimming Carnival. Everyone enjoyed the competitive and non-competitive races. The novelty events, such as the boat races, belly flop competition, and Mad 5, created great participation and enjoyment. The gift race was highly competitive, with Natalie Beck narrowly taking out the prize. Congratulations to all the students who attended and participated, and a big Congratulations to the winning house, Murray!
