Passport 2 Employment
Passport 2 Employment: Empowering Students for the Future
The Passport 2 Employment program is designed to equip students with essential skills and experiences that prepare them for the workforce. This initiative goes beyond traditional classroom learning by providing hands-on activities, workshops, and real-world opportunities that help students build confidence, professionalism, and practical knowledge. Over an 8 week period, 3 students participated in Passport 2 Employment. Jack, Harley and Zayne attended each week and contributed in a range of different workshops.
During the program, students engaged in a variety of activities aimed at developing their career readiness. They participated in resume-building sessions, where they learned how to highlight their strengths and experiences effectively. Additionally, students explored workplace etiquette, teamwork, and communication skills through interactive role-playing exercises.
A highlight of the program was a Workplace Tour, where students visited local industries to develop an understanding and awareness of the inner workings of these organizations. This session provided students with a firsthand look at different workplaces and helped them identify areas within these industries that might appeal to them as they plan their careers. By experiencing the work environment directly, students could better envision their future career paths and understand the variety of roles available. These workplaces included Bunnings, Nigretta, Speckled Frog, Tyrepower, and ERA Nurseries.
One step of the program was Accessing Support and Transport (Amazing Race). This chapter specifically addressed the barrier of transport — a common challenge many young people face when seeking employment. The Amazing Race activity was designed to familiarise participants with local agencies and services that provide support and assistance related to transport and other employment needs. By navigating different checkpoints and connecting with these organizations, students gained practical knowledge about the resources available to them, helping them overcome obstacles that could impact their ability to maintain a job.
Overall, Passport 2 Employment helped students develop a strong foundation for entering the job market with confidence and a clear sense of direction. By participating in this program, they not only gained critical skills but also unlocked new opportunities for their futures. Great Job Jack, Harley and Zayne.
Active Schools Victoria
Active schools Victoria helped organise a VIS elite athlete to come and talk with our students on Monday 2nd of June. Zali Ward a state and National level hockey player spoke to a number of VCE and Year 10 PE students about her journey, pathways, nutrition, life balance and choices you make. Zali was very entertaining and the group was very appreciative of the chat. Mia was happy to pose for a photo as one of our keenest hockey players.

VCE Visual Communication Design
Our VCE Visual Communication Design students have been busy completing their Unit 1 projects. In Area of Study 3, they’ve explored three-dimensional design using technical drawing skills and brought their ideas to life with traditional rendering techniques, including Traditional Copic markers and airbrushing.
Careers Week - Year 9's
Year 9 students recently took part in a dynamic and engaging Careers Week, designed to spark ideas and guide them as they begin to consider their future pathways. Throughout the week, students attended hands-on sessions at The Hamilton and District Skills Centre and South West TAFE, where they explored VET course options available to them next year.
The week also featured guest speakers from a range of industries, as well as future-focused workshops led by Deakin University. These sessions encouraged students to reflect on their interests, set goals, and learn about the many pathways available through senior school and beyond.
It was a fantastic opportunity for students to start thinking about their aspirations and we were impressed by the curiosity and maturity they brought to every session.

Year 10 Work Experience
Our Year 10 students recently completed their Work Experience program, stepping into real-world workplaces and gaining valuable insight into life beyond the classroom. Across a wide range of industries including healthcare, education, retail, trades, and agriculture students explored potential career paths, developed practical skills, and built confidence in their abilities.
This hands-on experience allowed students to connect classroom learning with real-world applications, helping them make more informed decisions about their future studies and career goals. We’re proud of the responsibility and enthusiasm they showed as they embraced this opportunity to learn and grow.
Push Up Challenge
We had 27 members of the Baimbridge community sign up for The Push-Up Challenge from 4-26 June 2025 and many more do it personally or with their families.
This year we had a big emphasis on squats and alternative exercises. The Challenge is to complete 3,214 push-ups (or 1,607 if you choose the half target) in 23 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health.
Well done to Chloe, Robyn Hatherell, Sienna, Freddie, Selina, Tess, Lorenzo, Wally, Layla and Joran for completing the target of 3,214. A huge effort!
