Principals Report

As Term 2 draws to a close, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on what has been a dynamic and enriching 11-week term. Our students and staff have embraced a wide array of curricular and extracurricular opportunities, showcasing the energy and enthusiasm that defines our school community.

Students participated in debates, dress-up days, sporting events, and meaningful fundraising activities, including the Big Freeze and Do It For Dolly Day. We’ve enjoyed whole-school cross country, girls’ football competitions, student golf days, and much more.

Beyond the classroom, our students experienced vocational taster days, work experience placements, music performances, and outdoor education and school camps. Excursions to the Hamilton Art Gallery, country trips to learn about local Aboriginal culture, and a performance from the Bell Shakespeare Theatre Company further enriched learning thanks to Mr. McDonalds passion and interest for prose and dramatics. We also hosted both Grade 5 and Grade 6 transition days to help younger students feel ready for their next steps.

This term, we were proud to welcome four new international staff: Jill McNeice (English) and Megan Haller (Music) from the United States, and Ravneel Pratap (P.E.) and Avinash Narayan (Math) from Fiji. International teachers bring with them much more than their love of teaching and we look forward to learning more about their lived experiences.

Staff have continued to engage in professional learning, and students completed mid-year exams and Morrisby vocational testing to support their future career planning. Many of our students also gave back through community volunteering.

We look forward to a well-earned break and a strong start to Term 3 where there will again be much on our sporting, arts and academic calendar. Our students are already deep in preparation for another amazing musical production so stay tuned.

Thank you to all our staff, students, and families for contributing to such a successful term.
