Senior School Update
Senior School Formal
The Senior School Formal held at The Stamford was a truly memorable evening, filled with elegance, laughter, and celebration.
Our students arrived impeccably dressed, suits and dresses on display in stunning fashion, as they gathered for a night to mark this special chapter in their school journey.
It was great to see our Year 10, Year 11 and Year 12 students making the most of the evening, dancing and creating lasting memories with friends and classmates.
The student-organised awards ceremony was a highlight of the night, which brought a fantastic sense of fun and was a testament to the strong bonds formed across the cohort.
"It was a great opportunity for all the kids to come together” Wesley, Year 12
Adding to the sense of pride and milestone achievement, our Year 12 students have also received their official Year 12 jackets.
Wearing these jackets is a proud tradition and a visible symbol of their dedication and journey to their final year of school. It's a moment that celebrates how far they’ve come and the exciting road ahead.
In the academic space, senior students are preparing for two important milestones in the coming weeks.
First is the General Achievement Test (GAT) on Tuesday 17 June. The GAT plays a vital role in the quality assurance of VCE assessments and also provides students with an opportunity to demonstrate they meet the Victorian Literacy and Numeracy Standards expected at the senior secondary level.
Following the GAT, students will sit their Unit 1 and Unit 3 practice exams. These exams are a valuable checkpoint, allowing students to reflect on their progress, assess their understanding of key content, and make any necessary changes to their study habits ahead of end-of-year assessments.
We’re proud of the way our senior students are balancing academic responsibilities with celebrating their final years, and we wish them all the best in preparing for the busy weeks ahead.

Vocational Major (VM) Update
What a busy term it has been so far for our Vocational Major (VM) students!
We began the term with students completing their RSA and Food Handlers micro credential.
Recently, our VM students hosted our first ever VM Bake Sale, which was a huge success! The Bake Sale gave the students the opportunity to apply their knowledge of financial maths and demonstrate the practical skills including scaling recipes for larger quantities, determining cost and sale prices, tracking sales and calculating profits.
Our students whipped up an array of delicious treats for the college community to enjoy, and they were such a hit that they were sold out within minutes. The event would not have happened without the hard work and dedication of Miss Angie DeBoer and the support of Mrs Ruth Smith and Mrs Fiona Matthews in our Food Studies department.
A big thank you to all involved.
Finally, our students were lucky to attend the ‘Interview 2 Impress’ session run by ABCN Programs on Thursday 15 May. Below is a report, outlining the experience.
The interview workshop was successfully conducted for students, with active participation and engagement throughout the session. The workshop was facilitated by experienced corporate mentors currently leaders in their fields as financial managers, wealth creators, cyber-crime prevention specialists, who provided valuable insights and guidance on effective interview techniques.
All students in attendance were well-behaved and demonstrated a keen interest in enhancing their interview skills. The session covered key areas such as communication, body language, and common interview questions. Students benefited greatly from the practical tips and personalised feedback offered by the mentors.
Overall, the workshop was a productive experience, equipping students with the confidence and skills needed to excel in future interviews. Thanks to Noah Ross and Mihalis Hajiantoni for their closing message and thanks to the panel.
Thanks to Mrs Lee for organising everything and Mr Ridgway and Mr Triegaardt for accompanying the students to and from the venue.

VCE VM- Work Related Skills
We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Mr Richard Faragu from Knox Environmental Society who has kindly donated 50 indigenous tube stock to kickstart our 2025 garden project.
Students were enthusiastic and readily engaged with the planting activities. The native trees and shrubs will serve to create a habitat for local flora and fauna.
