Principals Message

Dear parents and carers,

Welcome to Term Two at St Xavier’s. We are off to a great start and have welcomed some new students, who are settling in well. The children have settled in quickly to the routines and expectations and staff have been busy preparing a term of differentiated, enjoyable learning experiences.

On our return to school we held a special assembly to acknowledge ANZAC Day and also the passing of his Holiness, Pope Francis. Thank you to the families who were able to come to the ANZAC March, it’s just so important for us as a country to recognise the aussies from all wars and conflicts and the sacrifices they made in the name of our country-the best in the world.

Anthony Adams, a veteran from the Afghanistan Conflict, spoke to our students about his experiences. He spoke so positively about the qualities of a soldier, qualities we speak about at school all the time. Character strengths such as perseverance, resilience, teamwork and of course, kindness. Anthony is also the President of the RSL Sub Branch and a wonderful role model for our young people.

We also spoke of the wonderful, humble leadership of Pope Francis. He led through mercy and compassion, always looking to support and protect the poor and the marginalised. A true servant leader he showed us the way to live more like Jesus.  His concern for the poor, for creation and for peace have shaped our world for the better. We continue to pray that all of us take heart and courage from his teachings to make the world a place where everyone can flourish.

Please read over the recent document shared with you on PARENT COMMUNICATION PROCEDURES. We are here to help and support you and your children and we need to know if you have any concerns.

Kind regards,

Jen

The P&F ASSOCIATION NEEDS YOU!

The P&F serves both schools which means over 700 students benefit from the efforts of around 5 parents. THINK ABOUT THE MATHS…

For the last three years, four parents have run the whole show. They have helpers who attend big events which we really appreciate but the month in month out work is down to the four.

The work throughout the year is not that hard and the fun the team has had is actually what the P&F is all about.

The great news is that the team have expressed a desire to continue attending meetings and helping out. So, we need a new President, Secretary and Treasurer, all of whom will be supported by the current team. If we cannot fill the positions, the P&F will cease to exist. No more balls, fetes, golf days, mother’s and father’s day stalls, bbq’s etc.

We are a community, surely there are 10 parents out there who could jump on board-PLEASE!
