Student Lunches & Utensils

Please remember to include cutlery when packing your child's lunches.

Students request forks and spoons for their lunches and snacks daily. Last year, we supplied 300 forks/spoons, which ended up in the bin.

We are proud of being a sustainable school, so we avoid the extra landfill, and the cost of purchasing bamboo cutlery adds up.

Please check the child's lunchbox. In the future, we will contact parents to ask them to bring cutlery to school if necessary.

Thank you

School Saving Bonus Reminder & Allocation to School Activities

The Victorian Government is delivering the School Saving Bonus (SSB) – a one-off support of $400 for eligible government school students from Prep to Year 12 in 2025.

The SSB can be used for uniforms and textbooks until Monday, 30 June 2025.

Any funds remaining after 30 June 2025, including online voucher amounts that have not been redeemed, will become a credit to use on school activities. However, the credit will not be available on your family account at our school until late July. To use any remaining SSB funds to cover the cost of school activities in July, please refer to the SSB online system and allocate the funds to school activities before 30 June 2025.

The Department of Education’s SSB contact centre will remain available until 30 June 2025. The contact centre can be reached by: · completing the School Saving Bonus enquiry form or calling 1800 338 663, between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm on weekdays.

After this date, don't hesitate to contact our administration team for any SSB-related questions.

Late Collection of Students after School

In the past few weeks, we have had an increasing number of :

  • Late student collections after 3:45 pm
  • phone calls to the office after 3:25 p.m. notifying of pickup changes, and
  • The office foyer was used as a waiting area as parents were due to be late and had not contacted the school.

If you will be late, you must call the school by 3:15 to inform the school you are running late for pickup, and ensure your child is not left unattended.

You would appreciate that with over 600+ students and an increasing number of calls to the school after 3:15 p.m., it is challenging to manage the incoming calls, call multiple classrooms, and forward individual messages to each student. For calls between 3:25 and 3:30 p.m., there is not enough time to forward messages to students before dismissal.

  • Students who are unattended on the school grounds at 3:45 p.m. will be brought to the office.
  • The office will attempt to contact parents or emergency contacts for urgent collection.
  • Please register for our OSHC program. It's free, and casual bookings are accepted if space is available.

Are your contact details up to date?

To update a change of address or family living arrangements, don't hesitate to contact the school office so that we can assist with updating your student/family contact information.

Parent Helpers and Volunteers at WHPS

Many parents assist at school within the classroom, on excursions and at school events throughout the year.

It is mandatory, that all Volunteers/parent helpers hold a valid Working with Children Card.  The card must be presented to the Office every time you sign in, on school grounds/or on an excursion helper.

For more information on the Working with Children Card and applications, please visit: Home | Working with Children

Lost Property

Please ensure all school clothes, bags, and personal property are clearly labelled with the student’s name.  This will ensure that the property can be returned to the correct person when lost.
