Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,

Welcome back to school for Term 2.  It is with sad but grateful hearts that we begin our term. Our Holy Father Pope Francis taught us to be faith filled sevants of each other and in this time of mourning we look to our faith in Jesus to fill our hearts with love, hope and charity.   We give thanks for Pope Francis' example of humility and service, and for his legacy, which speaks powerfully of the Easter message of mercy, hope, joy and renewal. May he rest in peace.

It’s been a wonderfully full week at school, with plenty of events to keep us busy, creative, and thoughtful.

We started with our joyful Alleluia Day Celebration – a time for giving thanks in prayer, singing together, and sharing God's spirit of hope and renewal. It was lovely to see so many smiling faces and hear our voices raised in unity.

A highlight of the day was the always popular Easter Bonnet Parade! A big congratulations to all the students who created such fantastic and imaginative hats – there were bunnies, blossoms, crosses and brilliant colours everywhere! Well done to everyone who took part – your creativity really shone through. Thank you to Mrs Winduss and Mrs McKenzie for their preparation and for leading the day so well.

Yesterday, our Grade 6 Leaders represented the school with pride at the local ANZAC Day service, respectfully reading the Lord's Prayer and laying a wreath on behalf of our school community. It was a meaningful and proud moment for our student leaders. Thank you to Mrs McKenzie and Ms Marks for their supervision of the children at the RSL.

This Afternoon, we held our own ANZAC service at school, giving all students the opportunity to pause, reflect, and remember those who have served and sacrificed.

Just a reminder that there is no school tomorrow Friday 25 April. We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend and takes some time to rest and recharge.

Looking ahead to next week:

  • On Monday, we’ll hold our first assembly of the term – we’re looking forward to seeing everyone together and sharing some important updates and celebrations.
  • Also, on Monday evening,  the Preparation Evening for First Eucharist will be held at the Church at 6.30pm and is compulsory for any children enrolled for First Eucharist.
  • On Wednesday, selected students will be heading off to represent our school at the District Cross Country. Good luck to all our runners – we know you’ll give it your best and make us proud!
  • A reminder that if your details change then please phone or email the office so that we can update our records.

We’re also very happy to welcome back Mrs de Veer, who will be returning part-time over the next few weeks as she continues to recover from her broken leg. It’s great to have her back with us!

Thanks again for a wonderful week, and we look forward to what’s ahead!

Warmest regards,

Sally Thomas
