Term 1 Highlights

Division Swimming

Congratulations to Arielle K for performing so admirably at the Kingston Division Swimming Championships on March 12. We are proud of you!

“I competed in the 50m breaststroke at Division Swimming at the Oakleigh Swimming Pool. I was the only student from CSPS there and I was proud of myself for making it to division and representing my school. Before I dived in, I was nervous, I swam as fast as I could. It was a very close race. I came in 4th place. I am going to keep training hard. I enjoyed the day. When I got back to school everyone was asking how I went which I appreciated.”

District Cricket

Congratulations to our CSPS Year 6 cricket team who won the most matches on the Caulfield & District Lightning Premiership Day. The team subsequently played in a challenge match against Malvern Primary School. Malvern Primary School proved too strong on the day however our team should be proud of their efforts.

Melbourne Football Club Visit

On Monday 28th April, five Melbourne Football Club AFL players visited CSPS. Students from Year 4 & 6 had the opportunity to listen to the players talk about their training, careers and goals moving forward. Ed Langdon was the most well-known of the players having played 187 games including being part of the 2021 premiership team.

“I was inspired by the players. They answered our questions and talked to us about their experiences from playing junior football and becoming AFL footballers. It was a real surprise when I found out some Melbourne players were visiting our school. It was the best news since we won the 2021 flag.” Oscar F, 6A (long time Melbourne supporter)

“Some of the players hadn’t played a game yet so it was interesting to hear how they are trying to get into the team. Ed Langdon was the only one from the group to have played in their premiership team. At the end if you got a question correct you could win a toy Melbourne footy.” Florence C, 6A

We would like to thank the Melbourne Football Club for visiting our school.

CSPS House Cross Country

The 2025 Cross Country was a great success and experience for all houses. With Mauboy Warreeny’s coming first, Goodes Guyeems coming second, Cowan Bunjils coming third and Irwin Darracks coming 4th. It was a day full of excitement, fun and encouragement. All houses encouraged each other to do their best and it was great to see all of the smiles on everyone's face. To the top 8 of each race good luck we wish you the best of luck for the District Cross Country next Friday. The day was a great success.

Mr Roger Weinstein a former grandparent of our school was once again our guest starter. Roger has completed over 100 marathons and is part of running folklore in Melbourne having completed 43 Melbourne marathons in a row. We thank him once again for giving up his time and inspiring our students to do their best.
