Dear Families,
Welcome back to Term 2!
Although it has been a short start to the term, we are pleased with how smoothly and positively it has begun.
School Fees:
At present, only 47% of families have contributed to the 2025 school fees—this is the lowest uptake in our school's history. We understand that the rising cost of living presents challenges; however, this low contribution rate directly impacts the resources we are able to provide for our learners. While tuition is free in Australia, many essential resources used in the classroom are not.
We greatly appreciate families who are able to contribute to our voluntary $180 curriculum contribution. Families can also make additional contributions to support our Library and First Aid programs. Every contribution, no matter the amount, makes a real difference to our school community.
3-Way Conference Day:
Thank you to the families who attended the 3-Way Conferences with their child/ren today. If you were unable to attend, please reach out to your child’s teacher to arrange an alternative time. These meetings are an important part of strengthening our school-home partnership.
Staff Update:
Over the break, Jenn (Education Support) welcomed the arrival of a baby boy. We send our warmest congratulations and best wishes to her as she begins this exciting new chapter.
We are pleased to welcome back Isabella, our speech therapist, following her family leave. Next Friday, we will be farewelling Nadine, another valued member of our speech therapy team, as she moves on to a new role closer to home. We sincerely thank Nadine for her dedication and contributions over the past 18 months and wish her all the best for the future.
Election Day – Friday 3rd May:
We are proud to announce that Keelonith Primary School will serve as a polling place for the upcoming election—our very first time hosting! This will be a convenient voting option for our school families and the broader community.
ANZAC Day:
Our school’s ANZAC Day service will be held on Monday, 28th April at 9:40am. In addition, our School Captains and selected SRC members will represent Keelonith Primary at the Craigieburn ANZAC Service tomorrow, accompanied by Ms Brooke.
Tomorrow, we pause to honour the brave men and women who have served to protect the rights and freedoms we enjoy today. Lest we forget.
Thank you,
Loren Peavey
