Responsible Pet Ownership Incursion 

On Wednesday the 7th of May, Our Foundation students experienced the Responsible Pet Ownership Incursion at Pakenham Hills Primary School. During the incursion, we met Melissa and her beautiful golden retriever 'Ranger.' Students learned how to take care of their pets by learning about the food they eat, toys they like to play with and exercise they can do. Melissa and Ranger taught us how to approach animals in the community and what we need to say if we would like to pat dogs. We love meeting Ranger and a slect few were lucky enough to pat him, using the safety tips that we learned. It was a fantastic experience!

Writing

Our students have been learning to sound out letters and blend together to write consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words. Students have been focusing on writing a sentence using a capital letter at the start and a full stop at the end. Check out the photos of our incredible writing below! 😊

1/2 News

Measurement

The 1/2 cohort have been learning about measurement in maths. Students have been learning about different vocabulary you can use to describe the length or width of an object. 1/2 students have been learning to use non-standard units such as popsicle sticks, paper clips and unifix blocks to measure the length of an object. Students have also learned how to compare the length of two objects.

3/4 News

Over the last few weeks, our students have been very busy looking after their bean plants and learning all about life cycles. They have been revising the 4 operations skills and well as practicing measuring objects and finding their perimeter. In reading and writing, we have been completing our narrative focus ready to move on to our next exciting topic  - exploratory texts.
