This Week's Updates

Dear Families,

Already in Week 3 and the term is flying by! Our Year 6 students have enjoyed a fantastic start with their camp at Phillip Island. Three action-packed days filled penguins, the giant swing, archery, circatron, mini golf, stand-up paddle boarding, swimming, rock climbing, and plenty of time hanging out with their mates away from home for two nights. What an amazing experience - fun had by all! Enjoy some photos below.

All our students and staff are settling into the routine and specialist classes are underway.

We are looking forward to our whole school Parent Information Evening on Wednesday 11th February. All families are expected to be represented on Wednesday evening. To help families with more than one child at St James, the session is repeated after the whole school session. Class sessions will be in either your child's class or the class next door.

The official times are as follows.

5.45 - 6.30pm  in rooms #1

6.30 - 7.15 in CC

7.15 - 8.00 in rooms #2

Marathon Club is back this week

Students in Grades 3-6 are invited to join the marathon club at 7:45am on Wednesday morning for a walk, jog or run. There’s no pressure, just a great excuse to catch up with friends before school starts and enjoy breakfast together. It’s a fun way to start the day feeling energised and positive.  The cost is $15 per semester which can be sent in with your child via the class tubs or directly to Lisa and Emir in the office.

Other clubs available during lunch break include, chess club, lego club, drawing club, stem club, book cafe and choir.

We are seeking some volunteers to move some mulch next week around school pick up each day (2.30 - 4.30pm), until it's done. Please let us know at office@sjvermont.catholic.edu.au if you are able to lend a hand  to keep our grounds looking good (BYO shovel/fork and wheelbarrow please).

Our first Friday fortnightly prayer service/assembly is on this Friday afternoon where we will present our Year Six Leadership badges and our Semester One SRC Badges. All families are welcome to attend. We will clap our new preps into the start of the assembly at 2.25pm.

You will have received your fee statement last week. If your eldest child is in Grade 6, it will come home today. If you choose to pay your fees in full by the end of February, you will receive a $120 discount. Direct debit forms are found on NForma notifications  or you can pick up a hard copy from the office.
