Student Leadership

Students with formalised badged positions
We will have a badge ceremony for our 2026 student leaders next Friday 6th Feb at 2:45pm. Families are welcome to join us for a start in the gym.
In the next few weeks, I'll be meeting with all of the year 6 students with badged leadership positions to start planning for their year of leadership and we'll have a workshop at the end of term with Unleashing Personal Potential (https://www.unleashingpersonalpotential.com.au/leading-from-the-front-primary).
Year 6 students without a badged leadership position, wanting to still be a leader in other ways
In the coming weeks, I'll also meet with the year 6 students who don't have a badged leadership position but would like to develop their leadership skills and contribute to the school in other ways (buddy program committee, production committee, and Science Week committee).
SRCs - Years 2-6
Students from years 2 upwards will have the chance to nominate themselves as their double class's representative for the Student Representative Council. There will be more information in coming weeks, but for those who remember how it worked last year - it will be much the same, with any student who's eager and committed being able to nominate themselves and then students will be chosen at random (pulled from a hat) after the nomination papers are screened for any 'donkey votes' or students not showing that they truly are committed.
Bilingual School Leaders
Our Principal, Luke, has already begun to work with our Bilingual School Leaders. Here's a message from them:

Hi Everyone,
We’re your Bilingual School Leaders for 2026 Max, Bonnie, Austin & Taylor. We have so many ideas and we are already trying to implement some. One of our ideas is Icy Pole Fridays. Beginning next Friday, we will be selling icy poles for a gold coin donation for fidgets in the classrooms. We will continue to make reminders throughout the week. Let's make sure we all remember, so our first week is a success and that we can all have a sweet treat to celebrate the end of the week.
