Principal's Message

“ Act Justly, Love Tenderly and Walk Humbly with our God.”
Dear parents and carers,
We have had a lovely two days reconnecting with our students. We have also welcomed a number of new families. It’s been wonderful to see the children catching up with each other and sharing stories from the break.
Today we welcomed our Director, Ms Regina Menz, to our Year 6 Leadership Day.
Regina engaged the students in a number of thought provoking activities in which they
explored the characteristics of a leader and what might motivate someone to become a leader.
This year we welcome four new staff members. To Year 4 we welcome Eliza Martin, to Year 3 Jasmine Paris and to Year 2, Claudia Hamilton. We also are excited to have Lisa Ross in our office every Thursday and Friday.
In Week 3, we will be hosting Grade Evenings for every grade. This is a fabulous way to find out what will be happening in your child’s classroom and what support you may be required to give. The sessions are short and begin with a cool drink in our foyer. There is a competition to see which grade has the highest attendance of parents and carers! Please note, these sessions are for parents and children do not need to attend.
One of the best ways that you can help your children succeed in school is to be
involved with their education. This starts with good communication between you and
your child's teacher. Remember that the vast majority of people are good people and want the best for your child and other people. Often children see things from their world and often don’t understand what leads up to a situation and so only communicate part of the story. At the beginning of the year when everything is new, sometimes it may be best to wait, but generally speaking, if it is worrying you, don’t wait; talk to the staff member closest to the situation. We do not want to solve all of our children’s problems, but a quiet word to the teacher can alert them to an issue before it gets too big.
We are excited to be working alongside you throughout 2026 to provide the very best learning experiences for our students.
Kind regards,
Jen
