What's happening around our school...
Our Prep students began school last Thursday with plenty of excitement as they started their first days at Kalinda Primary School. They enjoyed getting to know one another, spending time on the playground, practising their counting skills, and learning the routines and expectations of school life.
As part of their first day, students showcased their drawing talents, proudly sharing their artwork with teachers and classmates. We were inspired by pictures of rainbows, love hearts, families, animals, and all the things they are looking forward to doing at school. Some students even began writing sentences to accompany their drawings.
We are incredibly proud of how well our Prep students have settled into school and look forward to a fantastic year ahead.

Our Year 5/6 students have been working together to build strong and inclusive class communities. They have explored what mindfulness is (and isn’t), and how it can support focus, wellbeing and positive choices at school. Students have also discussed how to show our school values across different areas of school life, sharing ideas and then voting on their peers’ suggestions. This process has supported respectful discussion, collaboration and democratic decision-making

Happy Year of the Horse 2026!
In Japan, people exchange New Year’s cards much like Christmas cards here.
