DASH News

Over the past week at DASH we have had many children enjoy chasing and catching butterflies, many of them have created beautiful enclosed environments for their butterflies to live in and have taken great care of them.  This leads us perfectly into this week’s ‘Butterfly’ theme.

The students will have the opportunity to take a closer look using a magnifying glass at the ‘Cabbage Butterflies’ that have been flying around our gardens here at school. We are learning about the stages of how a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly and seeing if we can find larvae in our garden.  Along with our learning the students will also have the opportunity to create their very own peg butterfly using a range of crafty accessories, explore the symmetry of a butterfly and bake some delicious pancakes!

We have loved and are super excited to watch the children develop a range of skills and processed such as problem solving, experimentation, researching and investigating. All the while watching them become more curious, creative and confident in their everyday activities.
