Highlights from Heights Campus
It’s been a busy couple of weeks here on Heights Campus!
Our students have been working hard and enjoying the many opportunities and new experiences that our school has to offer.
Pancakes have been great hit at Friday Breakfast Club! When they first began serving pancakes students were queuing out of the door to try the yummy delight! The queues have disappeared now, but everyone is still keen to try the Friday treat. If pancakes are not your thing, then you can still head into breakfast club each morning from 8:30am to start your day with toasties, cereal or just some plain toast. See you there!
The sunshine has made our gardens bloom; the veggie patch and orchards are bursting with crops! If you look closely at the garden beds you may spot some strawberries, cherry tomatoes, corn, zucchini and several different herbs. During Environmental Science classes, students have been learning about the elements that our plants need to grow along with the practical skills required to take care of them.
Some of these amazing crops from our gardens have been used during our kitchen program. Students from grades three and four have been practicing their chopping skills on some giant zucchinis. They then put these newfound skills to good use when making yummy tabouli salad. Everyone agreed however, the best part of that session was the part when they sat together to enjoy the meal that they had created.
Enjoy the autumn sun!
Kind regards,
