Humanities

We are all very excited to be back in the classroom in 2024!

Across the junior school we have begun the year with the study of Civics and Citizenship. At Year 7 students have been learning about identity and belonging. In Year 8 students are studying the elements that make up the Australian legal system. Finally, at Year 9 students are investigating the concept of global citizenship. The History, Myths, and Legends elective in Year 9 is also running again this year!

In the senior school we have had many students elect to take a range of Humanities subjects which has been great to see. In Year 10 we have two History classes, and one Geography class running in Semester 1. History in Term 1 has been looking at World War 2, with students currently learning about the Holocaust. In Geography students have begun by looking at the environment. At Year 11 we have students studying Modern History, Business and Economics, and Geography. In Year 12 students are completing courses in History Revolutions, Business and Economics, and Legal Studies. We hope all students have a great year learning about each of these important subjects.
