Sit Together and Read
Earlier this term, the 'Sit Together and Read' (STAR) program recommenced for 2024. This program encourages students to discover the joy of reading and provides them with an opportunity to select a novel of interest to read at set times across the week.
Year 7 to 9 students spend the first 15mins of Period 1 each Monday, Wednesday and Friday reading the novel they have chosen. Staff work with students to select texts of interest and appropriate difficulty. Staff also use the time to read a novel of their choice and demonstrate the joys of a good book.
A nice enjoyable way to start the day, with some added literacy benefits.
