Calendar of Events 2024

This year we have a number of fun family events and activities for everyone to enjoy.  Of course, events like this cannot go ahead without the help and support of our families.

Call out for Class Representatives and Coordinator

Thank you to those parents who have kindly volunteered to be a class representative in 2024.  There are a number of class representative vacancies to be filled (please see below) with each class needing at least 1 class rep, however the role can be shared between 2 parents. Being a class rep is also a great opportunity for parents who are new to the school as no prior knowledge of the school is required - there will be a briefing session for all class reps about their role and ongoing support/communications provided across the year by the class rep coordinator/s.

Grade 1/2De - vacant

Grade 3/4JW - vacant

Grade 5/6MB - vacant

Grade 5/6MM - vacant

The PFA is looking to fill the Class Rep Coordinator role on the Committee (this can be a shared role between 2 parents).  There will be a handover from the outgoing class rep coordinators and support throughout the year, so again, we encourage parents new to the school to put their hand up as you will be well supported and it's a great way to be involved in the school community!

For further information on these roles please click here

If you are interested in one of these roles please contact Linnea Reddie (linnea.reddie@gmail.com) or Angela Southwood (angela.southwood@gmail.com)

OHR School Fete

As communicated in late 2023, the PFA has been discussing a revival of the OHR School Fete.  Hosting a Fete is a wonderful way to engage with our school and wider community, as well as providing students with leadership opportunities. However, events of this scale aren't possible without an army of volunteers.

To determine if we can provide a Fete, we are calling out for parents with experience and/or an interest in the following areas to form a Fete Committee to support planning and implementation

  • Event co-ordination
  • Marketing/PR
  • Managing volunteers/sign-up sheets
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Managing site logistics (incl. rides/activities, stalls, set up and pack down)
  • Decorations and theming
  • Managing silent auctions
  • Sponsorship
  • Food/drinks (stalls, vans, BBQ, etc.)
  • Booking activities (e.g. entertainment)
  • Booking rides and external tables/chairs, etc.
  • Co-ordinating Stalls e.g. White Elephant/Bake sale/Clothing/Books/Plant Stalls (the committee proposes a stall could be allocated to each class with parents organising/overseeing on the day)

The Committee invites expressions of interest by emailing pfaohr@ohrsurreyhills.catholic.edu.au by Friday 1st March.  Please note down if you are interested in a specific role or happy just to be involved in a role where there is a need.

Thank you to the parents who have already put your hand up to be involved, there is no need to email another EOI as we have your details and will be in touch again in early March.
