A snapshot from the classrooms this fortnight

Kindergarten - Jacqueline Pribilovics

Each week Kindergarten students are introduced to a quality text during modelled reading. This text is used as a stimulus to develop their oral language, vocabulary and writing.

Last week Kindergarten explored Alexander’s Outing. They loved having the ducks come to visit and retelling the beginning, middle and end of the story.

This week our focus is on Edward the Emu. We have been looking at special words like nouns and using adjectives to describe the different characters.

Year 1 - Eva Clinton

Year 1 just LOVE their sports lesson each week with Mr Simpson. We have completed 5 weeks of gymnastics and are now being prepped to become the next Australian cricket stars!

Year 2 - Aoife Geraghty

This fortnight, our focus has been on exploring friends of the number twenty. We enthusiastically joined our school community for Clean Up Australia Day, led by our class SRC, Brooklyn. We continued to expand our knowledge of sound by exploring and labelling a diagram of the ear . We also fit in some outdoor enjoyment, engaging in chalk play to finish off our week.

Year 3 - Hannah Jory & Holley Giannikos

AMADEUS PROGRAM

Year 3 have been very excited about receiving their instruments for the Amadeus Program! The countdown has been on since Day 1. So far the students have learnt how to put their instruments together, the names of some notes and how to play them. Watch out Sydney Symphony Orchestra - Year 3 are on their way!

Year 4 - Bella Abruzzese

Year 4 worked in teams to design a ‘Clean Up Our Ocean’ poster for Clean Up Australia Day. They explored the different wastes that are found in oceans and how we can help create less pollution for our wildlife.

Stage 3 - Anna Kelly & Laura Courtenay

Year 5 and 6 began their Print It unit by exploring the different prints that can be made using everyday objects found in our environment. Students used cups, sponges, a lemon, cutlery, toy cars and more! After experimenting, students chose certain prints to create a picture.
