Swimming Along in 1/2DS

Here in 1/2DS we are all swimming along happily as we start a brand new year together with new friends and new teachers in a brand new classroom.

At this early stage of the school year, we are getting to know each other and getting to know the routines and expectations in our class.

Some of our 'getting to know each other' happens through formal actvities, but a lot of learning about each other happens when we work together on learning tasks. Lately, we have been learning about graphing. Collecting data from each other gave us lots of opportunities to work together and learn a bit more about each other. We had fun, too!

We have been learning about Lent. We know that Lent is a time to get ready for Easter. We know that Lent lasts for 40 days. We know that the first day of Lent is Ash Wednesday.

We also know that the day before Lent starts is Shrove Tuesday, also known as Pancake Tuesday. We celebrated Shrove Tuesday by eating pancakes with different toppings. Check out our pancakes below!
