Congratulations to all of our senior campus students on completing your exams or the GAT this week. The focus and effort you brought to your preparation showed, and the way most of you followed the exam guidelines and routines we discussed is to be commended. A particular congratulations to our Year 7s for the mature and calm way they approached their first exams, many staff commented on how well you all handled what can be a stressful time.
Whatever the results bring, I hope you can take a genuine sense of achievement from having pushed through a demanding period — that's worth recognising in itself. Now is a good time to pause and reflect: look honestly at what worked, what didn't, and where the gaps were, then use that to set clear, specific goals for next semester. Exams aren't just a measure of what you know; they're also useful data for what to do differently next time. Please reach out to your teachers for support in understanding your results or feedback.
This week families will have received information about the Curriculum for 2027 and the process for subject selection for students in Year 8 to 11. I’m looking forward to sharing more about our 2027 Curriculum Guide and what the year ahead looks like for your child.
We’ve refreshed the structure across the Middle and Senior Years, and I think the best way to bring this to life is in person — through presentations, conversation, and the chance to ask the questions that matter most to your family.
Families with students currently in Years 8 to 11 are encouraged to attend our Curriculum Information Night and Subject Expo on Wednesday 24 June.
During the presentations, you’ll hear from Principal Dr Michael Horne, from me, and from members of our leadership team, as we walk through what the Explore and Emerge years look like in practice. Before and/or afterwards, I encourage you to head to the Expo, where our teaching staff will be on hand to talk through subjects and pathways one-on-one. It really is the best opportunity to ask the specific questions you have about your own child’s journey.
For families with a child currently in Year 7 or in Year 6 at the Junior School, a dedicated Engage Information Night, tailored to the move into Years 7 and 8, will be held later this year. More details will follow in Term Three.
I look forward to seeing many of you next Wednesday evening.
