Jack (Year 12) and Dail B (Year 10) qualified for the preliminary round of the Golf Secondary Individual Championships and represented Emmaus earlier this month. The event was held at the Kooyonga Golf Club, and Jack L placed second overall after a four-hole playoff with other students to determine the winner.

As a result, Jack has been selected into the 18 and Under South Australian Golf team who will participate at the upcoming National Championships in August at Moonah Links, Mornington Peninsula.

Congratulations to these students.

Winter Instrumental Evening - A Celebration of Talent

On Wednesday 24 June,  we hosted our much-loved Seasonal Instrumental Evening, offering students of all ages the opportunity to showcase their musical talents.

The evening highlighted the range of talent within our student body, welcoming performers regardless of whether they are part of a school ensemble or receive lessons through Emmaus.

The audience was treated to a diverse and inspiring range of performances from over forty students, including vocal solos and duets, chamber ensembles, and instrumental pieces across piano, violin, viola, cello, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto saxophone, drums, and double bass.

Congratulations to all performers for sharing their talents with confidence and enthusiasm. A heartfelt thank you also goes to our tutors for their ongoing support, guidance, and commitment to nurturing each student’s musical journey.

We look forward to seeing even more wonderful performances at our Spring Instrumental Evening next term.

Netball Knockout Round 1 – A Strong Start for Emmaus

Emmaus Christian College proudly fielded two Girls Division 3 teams in the recent Netball Knockout Round 1 Competition, held at Wirreanda Secondary School and organised by theDepartment for Education.

Representing the College with enthusiasm and determination were our Year 7/8 team and our Year 9/10 team, both competing against strong opposition from across the region.

The Year 7/8 girls showed great spirit, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day. Each match provided valuable experience, with players demonstrating resilience and a willingness to learn and improve. While the team did not progress to Round 2, they should be commended for their positive attitude and commitment on the court. Their efforts have laid a solid foundation for future competitions.

Our Year 9/10 team delivered an impressive series of performances, combining skill, communication, and strategic play. Their hard work paid off, as they successfully advanced through Round 1 and secured a place in Round 2, which will take place next month. This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to their dedication during both training and competition.

We congratulate all players on their efforts and thank staff, coaches, and supporters who helped make the day a success. A special thank you to Old Scholars Grace, Fiona and Zoey for supporting our teams and providing this valuable opportunity for our students to compete against other schools.

We wish our Year 9/10 team all the best as they prepare for the next stage of the competition.

Go Emmaus!
