Year 5/6 Battle of the Bands
The Year 5/6 students took to the stage for Battle of the Bands last week. Many of these students only picked up their instruments in February - what an achievement!
The Rawkstars and D’Limanators brought great energy and teamwork, performing 'The Chicken Dance' and 'Tequila' appropriately renamed "D'Lima" and, for the first time ever, a fun parent conga was started for extra points!
The Emmaus Concert Band blessed us with en exceptional performance, inspiring students to continue their musical journey at Emmaus.
Congratulations to the D’Limanators on the win, and well done to all students on a fantastic performance.
Learning through teaching: procedural texts in action
This term in English, the Year 3/4 students have been exploring procedural texts and learning how to write clear, sequenced instructions. Students investigated the purpose and features of procedural texts, including goals, materials, and step-by-step instructions, while focusing on using precise language and sequencing words.
To put their learning into practice, students had the exciting opportunity to coach their little buddies through a procedure they had written themselves on a topic of their choosing. Topics included:
- How to wash your Hands
- How to kick a Soccer Ball
- How to finger stitch
- How to dress a Wound
- How to fold a Chatterbox or other Origami
- How to draw certain Pictures
- How to skip bars on the Monkey Bars
- How to juice an Orange
- How to tie a Shoelace
Students read their procedure to their little buddy. They then carefully explained each step, demonstrated their activity, and supported their buddies as they followed the instructions.
This authentic learning experience allowed students to see the importance of writing clear and accurate procedures. It also helped develop their communication, leadership, and collaboration skills. We were incredibly proud of the confidence, patience, and enthusiasm our students showed while teaching their buddies and bringing their procedural texts to life.

Biggest Morning Tea ECCO Fundraiser
The Brooklyn Park Emmaus Christian College Outreach (ECCO) were busy preparing hot chocolates, snack packs, and fruit to raise money for life-saving support for almost 1 in 2 Australians impacted by cancer.
It was incredible to see events happening right across our community, morning tea in the ELC, snack packs for parents and hot chocolates and snacks for Foundation to Year 6 students.
A MASSIVE THANK YOU to our wonderful ECCO Team, teachers, and our amazing parents for generously donating your time, energy, and resources to support such an important cause.
We were able to raise $3,285.16 for the Cancer Council, this is a wonderful achievement and highlights the generosity of our community.
Celebrating the Soccer World Cup at Lunchtimes⚽
In Week 9 and 10, Mr Heath has organised Emmaus Soccer activities for the students at lunch times to celebrate the FIFA World Cup!
Foundation - Year 2 Soccer Fun Days have been a wonderful opportunity for our youngest students to get active, develop new skills, and, most importantly, have fun! Throughout the lunchtime play sessions, students participated in Soccer activities and games designed to build confidence, teamwork, and ball skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. From dribbling challenges to goal-scoring opportunities, there has been plenty of excitement and fun!
Year 3-6 students are proudly representing countries from around the world, competing in mixed-age teams and demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship throughout the tournament. The event provides a wonderful opportunity for our older and younger students to work together, encourage one another, and build new friendships on and off the field.
With our school community representing so many different cultures and backgrounds, the BP Soccer World Cup is a great way to celebrate the many countries that make our school such a vibrant and welcoming place.
A big thank you to our Year 6 student leaders and supporters who have helped make the event such a success. Most importantly, congratulations to all of our players for embracing the spirit of the World Cup and showing that while trophies are exciting, the friendships and memories made along the way are what truly matter.
Thanks to Mr Heath for creating interactive activities at lunchtime for our students.
