Performing Arts News

This term in Performing Arts we have been focusing on Music. We have loved exploring the beat, tempo and rhythm of music using our bodies and musical instruments. 

Students have enjoyed singing songs and playing games. Poison Rhythm, Pass the Beat, Beat Detective, Who Stole the Cookie from the Cookie Jar, Drum Tag, Musical Statues and Boom Chicka Boom are some of the students favourite music games so far! 

The Junior students are using percussion instruments such as maracas, clap sticks, tambourines, castanets, drums, xylophones and cymbals to follow along with chants and music. 

The senior students have been working on playing songs on the xylophones & are about to begin using Garageband to create digital music pieces.
