Cross Country

Newham students represented our school amazingly well at the Cobaw District Cross Country event last week. We had plenty of students finish in the top 10 of their event, with two students making it through to the next stage in Castlemaine on Friday. Well done Chloe and Quinn, good luck! One fantastic thing to note was the enoucragement of other participants from our students with several being noted by other PE teachers for their fantastic sportsmanship in celebrating the achievements of others. Such amazing things to hear!

Cobaw Soccer

The soccer team participated on Tuesday against many other schools in our region. Smiles (and some sore shins/knees) were on the agenda when they returned back to school, with Mrs McAuley noting that sportsmanship was the highlight of the day. We heard about encouraging others, giving everyone a go by rotating onto the bench willingly and supporting teammates in their efforts.

While many people had previous soccer training and others didn't everyone was willing to give it a go resulting in fun and happy memories for the team.
