Senior School

Senior School students are well and truly heading towards the middle of the term’s work in their classes. Following with a week of revision, Year 10 & 11 students will be completing their midyear exams from Tuesday 11 June until Friday 21 June. Year 10 students will finish the term (June 24 – June 28) with work experience. And Year 11s will have their year level BBQ at lunchtime on the Tuesday (June 25) of the last week of term.

The Senior Years' Coordinating team of Dr Michael Harte (Head), Allana Edgell (Administrator), Alistair Tuffnell (Year 10), Peter Giapantzakis (Year 11), Glenda Hanslow (Year 12) and Peter Scott (Years 10-12), along with Conor Sheehan (Assistant Principal) and Karen Riding and Carole Marcianti (Careers), are into the swing of the busy term as we work together for our Year 10, 11 & 12 students. Dr Michael Harte has smoothly settled into his role as Head of Senior School this year.

Parents and guardians, hang in there as we approach the later stages of semester one for your child(ren)!

There has been much happening this term already. Our VCE Unit 3 & 4 students attended and were inspired by various Top Acts, Top Arts, Top Designs and Top Screen displays. Also, the north area Senior School student toilets have just been refurbished this term and the toilets are now open to senior students.

The Senior School team encourages all of our wonderful Year 10, 11 and 12 students to keep up the good work you are doing this term in all areas: your studies and classwork, your extracurricular work, and your interpersonal and social life at school and home.

I will leave you for now with a few words our Year 11 Coordinator, Peter Giapantzakis, expressed to me today: “Wonderful group of students that have made my role (as Year 11 Coordinator) extremely enjoyable.”

Holocaust Museum

Year History 10 students visited the Melbourne Holocaust Museum, deepening their understanding of the human impact of World War II. Immersed in interactive exhibits and personal narratives, our students bore witness to the resilience and tragedy of those affected by one of history's darkest chapters. Through this experiential learning, they not only honoured the memory of those lost but also gained invaluable insights into the importance of empathy, tolerance, and the enduring pursuit of peace.
