Theatre Parents Group
On Saturday 20 April the Koonung Theatre Parents were excited to present Once Upon a Swamp, a Knight of Tunes and Trivia at Box Hill Town Hall. A full house of over 200 people came together to test their trivia skills and be treated to a night of entertainment and delicious mocktails, while raising approximately $5000 for this year’s production of Shrek the Musical.
The crowd got a sneak peak at the great talent that will be in display in this year’s production, with a preview performance of What’s up Duloc from Shrek, and several students gave other outstanding performances throughout the night. Favourite trivia rounds for the night invited the audience to identify songs sung by our students and spot the details in an ensemble dance and drama performance. The night finished off with a dance set led by professional performer (and KSC Dad) Lorenzo Iannotti.
A big thank you to everyone involved: Keiran Rice for being our Knight of Tunes and Trivia, Lorenzo Iannotti for his management of the stage and audio, all the members of the Koonung Theatre parents for their tireless work putting the night together, the City of Whitehorse who provided the venue, and Box Hill Town Hall staff who took great care of us leading up to the event and throughout the night. Congratulations to our table of teachers, who took home the 2024 Trivia Champions title!
To everyone who attended, a huge thank you for your support! It would not have been such a successful night without such a great turnout. A great deal of effort, time and cost goes into pulling the musical together every year, so every bit of support makes it easier to create the final show and to showcase our amazing school talent.
Tickets will be on sale soon for Shrek the Musical, July 25th to August 3rd 2024. Don’t miss out!

The second hand uniform shop is open on Fridays from 2pm to 3:15pm
Good quality second hand uniform items for sale or donation are always gratefully received and can be left at the administration office.

Become a Parent Representative for your year level!
The role of a Parent Representative needs no experience, just a willing spirit to facilitate parent connection in your student’s year level. You have the flexibility to organise coffee outings, dinners, a Sunday afternoon picnic or whatever you like doing! We generally recommend 2 representatives to support each other for your year level.
