Hello Foundation Families,

This week in Foundation, we have explored problem solving in maths. We found lots of ways to make 10 and sung a long to Pevan and Sarah who showed us 'Friends of Ten'. We used different prompts such as "there is 10 animals in the farm, some pigs, some sheep" and students then used different strategies to make different outcomes.

In Reading, we read two stories called "Room on the Broom" and "Noni the Poni". In these stories, characters lost some of their things. Students then made text to self connections about a time they may have lost something.

Next week is Deaf Awareness Week. We will be exploring Auslan Symbols as a part of our reading program where students will learn how to sign their name. Check out the alphabet below. Can you practice some letters at home with your families?
