International Student Program

24th April 2024

Hi everyone,

Welcome Term 2 2024. I do hope you all had a wonderful break.

Parent /Teacher Interview

2024 PTI was held in the last week of Term 1. We are very pleased that all our international students with their parents/guardians attended the interview.

Thank you Ms Podesser, our International Student YL coordinator, who arranged students' study progress feedback from their teachers in advance. Due to the language barrier, Ms Charmaine Ji, our Multicultural aid and I attended the meeting as interpreters. We also used the interpreting service from Language Loop for the languages in Vietnamese and Khmer. Many thanks to our ISP team and all the teachers for making the event successful.

Puffing Billy Excursion

On 26/03, we ran the excursion to Puffing Billy and Mt Dandenong. This is a great opportunity for our international students to visit a local attraction and further develop relationships with other students in the program. We took the Coach to Belgrave and boarded the Puffing Billy train to Lakeside, then to Sassafras for shopping and lunch. Thank you again Ms Podesser for organising the event as our students had a great experience. Here I would like to share one of our students' feedback:

Ivy Wang-The night before we departed, I checked all my things more than once, researched some skills of taking photos and went to bed early.

When we got off the bus, waiting in line for the train, I was so excited. Luckily, my friends and I were in the same carriage. The wind blew through our faces, there were trees and villages, enthusiastic people waved to us…… We laughed a lot, took lots of fantastic photos and videos along the way.

For lunch, we sat around a big wooden table and shared some snacks. The environment here was amazing. It was a pity that when we were on the train, it was cloudy, but in the afternoon, the sun came out and we could see some blue sky. I went to some shops around the road with Mai, without spending money, we just wanted to have a look. Every shop was cosy. There were toy shops, candy shops, aromatherapy shops and a jewellery shop. We spent the whole afternoon strolling!

On the way back to school, I was so tired that I fell asleep on the bus. I really had a wonderful day!

Mordialloc College Athletic Day

On 28th March, all our students attended the College's Athletic Event at Sandringham Athletic Club.

Congratulations to Dylan LI who won 2 prizes for shot put and discus throw. Our students had a relaxed day as they found their special way to entertain themselves. It is also good to see that they have made some new friends.

2024 Student Scholarship

Congratulations to our Y12 international student Roy Zhu, who just received the award of "The Richard Scholarship Fund ''!

This Scholarship was established in memory of the Late Richard William, a well-known person around the Mordialloc area, and alumni of Mordialloc College.

Well done Roy - you will be a role model for all of us!

Term 2 new international arrivals

Our ISP enrols new students every term to benefit the students' needs from all over the world. Due to the delay of international student visa processing, we have no new arrivals this term. We are expecting a big group to arrive in Term 3 2024.
