South Plympton - Main Building Extension Update

"Ascension Days" 30-31 May

Our South Plympton main building extension is making significant progress, with the first level of precast concrete panels now in place.

The next major stage is the installation of the enormous second-story concrete panels.

To perform this important procedure, a crane will be onsite in the southwestern corner on Thursday 30 and Friday 31 May (end of Week 5).

On these days, to ensure the safety of our students, onsite activities will be greatly minimised, primarily in the northeast facilities. Despite this, parents will not notice any changes to the usual drop-off and pick-up routines.

We have embraced this as an exciting opportunity to undertake a range of special programs and activities or bring forward excursions already planned for later in the year. Our focus has not only been to preserve our quality educational programs but where possible, to provide an exceptional experience for the students too!

If you can be available to assist with excursions as a parent volunteer on these days, we would greatly appreciate it. Please contact your child's teacher ASAP or visit our website for more information on how to register here.

Please stay tuned to find out more from your child/ren teacher/s regarding the specific activities planned on the 30-31 May.

Canteen News - Emergency Lunches

We're glad to offer emergency lunches for students who have forgotten their lunch, missed their Qkr order, or simply need a meal.

Our standard emergency lunch includes the following:

  • a piece of fruit for recess
  • and a choice of a baguette, cheese sandwich, or cheese and vegemite sandwich for lunch, depending on availability.

While we strive to accommodate dietary requirements, we cannot cater to individual taste preferences.

How to request an emergency lunch:

  • Junior School students - tell their class teacher and present an emergency lunch slip at the beginning of lunch.
  • Secondary school students - Request directly from the canteen and complete an emergency lunch slip

Payment is required the following day, and an email notification will be sent via SEQTA.

Please note: We are unable to check emails during the day, so we cannot receive emergency lunch requests in time. Similarly, calling the canteen for a late lunch order is not recommended, as we cannot answer the phone during service times, and messages may not be retrieved promptly.

Please refer to the process of requesting an emergency lunch as outlined above so we can provide lunch for your child.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Music Tuition

Is your child receiving instrumental tutoring at Emmaus?

We want to remind you of the following processes regarding lesson absences.

  • If your child is absent due to illness, please inform your tutor directly before 8am on the day of the lesson via email or phone.
  • As per our College Protective Practices Guidelines, students are not permitted to contact tutors directly via their personal devices.
  • If your child is absent for any reason (including sickness or excursions), tutors should be given as much notice as possible to arrange an alternate lesson time. This lesson may be credited to the following term if an alternate time is unavailable.
  • It is the student's responsibility to remember their lesson time and their instrument. If they forget their lesson time, the tutor is not obliged to reschedule or credit the lesson.
  • If the tutor is ill, the tutor will advise their students and contact the College. The tutor will arrange to make up the missed lesson or credit it to the following term's account.

Thank you.
