Updates from our Pastoral Groups (Units)

Foundation ~ Prep News

Now that it is Term 2 the Preps are flying along with their learning! In Literacy we are learning to blend three sounds together to make a word. We are also practising writing letters and words and becoming more accomplished authors!

With the Sport's Day early this term, it has been the perfect time to learn about ordinal numbers in Maths. We ran races with toys in the room, and running outside and played lots of games where we could come 1st, 2nd or 3rd.

We have also been learning about Measurement and classifying objects as taller, shorter or the same.

We love to learn and are really settling into school life!

Early Years ~ 1/2 News

The Grade 1/2's have been learning about what life was like in Jesus' time. On Thursday we learnt about how people would have used scrolls instead of books to write down their messages. We wrote the Bible passage: Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven." We then used coffee to stain the paper to make it look old like scrolls.
