Dear Parents and Carers,
On Friday 25th July we are very excited to have the wonderful staff from Nyumbar attend our school once again in order for us to participate in the Nyumbar Aboriginal Education Cultural Day.
Nyumbar is a Minjungbul word from the Bundjalung Nation that means “Teach, Show, and Guide.”
Throughout the day the program offers students a unique opportunity to learn how traditional tools and weapons were crafted and the resources used in their creation. Students will engage in a hands-on, memorable cultural experience and will also be lucky enough to take part in creating a wonderful mural for our school.
We encourge you all to take a few moments to have a read of the below:

Looking ahead to next term we'd like to share a friendly reminder to ensure our car line runs smoothly and safely for everyone. Please observe the following:
Your cooperation and consideration helps keep our car line efficient and safe for our entire community. Thank you!
Inter-school Public Speaking
During Term 3, our school will once again participate in the Sutherland Network Catholic Schools Inter School Public Speaking Competition. This involves all students from Kindergarten - Year 6. This inaugural competition was a huge success in 2024, and we expect it will be so again this year.
Involving a number of local Catholic Primary Schools it provides students with an opportunity to develop their confidence when speaking in front of a group of people.
More information will be provided to parents at the beginning of Term 3, after the topics for Round 1 have been determined.
The competition will consist of four rounds:
1. Class (within the school) - Week 3-4
2. Grade (within the school) - Week 6-7
3. Stage (within the school) - Week 9-10
4. Interschool Final - held at De La Salle College Caringbah on Friday 17th October.
NB: The final inter school round is only for students in Stages 2 and Stage 3 (Year 3- 6).
Have a wonderful holiday with your families and I look forward to seeing you all on Monday 21st July.
Mrs Louise Fairhall
