Principal's Message

Dear Families of Our Lady Star of the Sea,

Please remember in your prayers Mr Bill Buckley who passed away on Saturday 28th June. Mr Buckley was the first lay principal of Our Lady Star of the Sea once the Sisters of St Joseph of Orange County left our school. A very important member of our community who was a man of great faith and service to our greater Catholic community. 

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen

As we conclude the first semester of 2025, I would like to express my gratitude for your support and partnership. Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School thrives because of our vibrant and welcoming community, where strong relationships between parents, staff, and the parish are cherished.

Your children have demonstrated remarkable growth, resilience, and enthusiasm throughout this term. Their achievements, both in and out of the classroom, reflect their dedication and the nurturing environment we have cultivated together. I hope you share in the pride I feel for each student's accomplishments.

Our dedicated teachers and staff have worked collaboratively to provide a stimulating and challenging curriculum, ensuring every child is known and supported. The joy and love for learning evident in our students are a testament to this collective effort.

The intention of this Charter is to outline the principles and expectations that underpin the relationship between parents and schools as we work together to build school communities based on our enduring values of faith, hope and love.

Application for Extended Leave for Students

If a student is taking more than 5 days leave outside of the school holidays parents are required to submit an application for extended leave form- 'Student Extended Leave Form'.

This form can be found on the Compass parent portal in the School Favourites section that is the star on the bar at the top.

Once the form is completed, please forward it to the school office and attach a copy of the flight itinerary for the upcoming trip. Within 3 days I will sign the form and it will be returned to your family to carry with your passports.

As we begin the school holidays, I encourage you to spend quality time with your families, reflecting on the blessings of the past term and recharging for the semester ahead.
