Restorative Practices

Restorative Practices – Supporting Positive Behaviour and Relationships

As part of our ongoing work with Knowledge Society and the development of our behaviour curriculum, we’ve been focusing on three key daily actions across all classrooms:

  • Entry routines
  • Exit routines
  • A consistent cue to start learning

These practices are simple but powerful. They help create a calm and purposeful environment where students know what to expect and how to engage positively in learning from the very start of the day.

Next term we will also continue working closely with Kirsty Lush from Real Schools to deepen our whole-school approach to Restorative Practices. This includes supporting students to build the habits and language they need to:

  • reflect on their behaviour
  • repair harm when things go wrong
  • resolve problems respectfully and with empathy

Our purpose isn’t just building positive behaviours, it’s about building a culture where every student feels safe, connected and responsible for their actions and relationships.

We’ll continue to share updates on our Behaviour Curriculum and Restorative Practices next term as we embed this work more deeply into the daily life of the school
