F.I.R.E. Carriers

On Tuesday morning we recommissioned our current Year 6 F.I.R.E. Carriers as they continue to learn about Aboriginal culture and history and are committed to sharing this knowledge and promoting reconciliation within and beyond the school community.

Shaylee, Will, Tyler, Cadie, Amelia and Paul will continue to represent St Mary’s and provide role models in our community.

It was wonderful to welcome Father Novie and Michael Chisholm (CESL Aboriginal Education Lead) to our morning prayer and recommissioning ceremony.

Winter Appeal

Thank you for your generosity as many donated blankets were delivered to St Vincent de Paul, Echuca on Thursday. Staff and volunteers were extremely grateful as their stock is considerably low at this time of the year, as you can appreciate. St Vincent de Paul continue to welcome further donations, so please visit the store to donate where you can.

NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC Week is an Australian observance lasting from the first Sunday in July until the following Sunday. The acronym NAIDOC stands for National Aboriginal and Islanders Day Observance Committee. This year this important week falls in the first week of the school holidays, Sunday 6th – 13th July. At St Mary’s we recognised NAIDOC Week in every classroom during our morning prayer on Friday.
