From the Houses

Term 3 is always quiet as we enjoy the warmth of being indoors through the last of the winter months, but it has been busy in both Rice House and Nagle House. At the beginning of the term, Year 12 completed their Trials exams and the Year 11Boarders are gearing up for their preliminary exams. As expected, the boarding houses were quiet as our seniors studied for their exams. We are all looking forward to the warmer months ahead when we can spend more time outside enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Mount Erin.
Towards the end of last term, the girls said a sad goodbye to their boarding supervisor, Vicki, who appreciated the heartfelt farewell from the girls. We are sure she has taken many fond memories of her time at MEBS with her.
Recently, the Nagle House girls farewelled Boarding Assistant, Danielle Blight. We wish Danielle all the best for the future.
Celese and Maggie have continued to work on their Art projects, and our jigsaws are once again being created, with Jess finishing two in the last few weeks.

Our Student leaders are proactive at all our events, meetings, and planning with the head of boarding on what happens in the houses. Neve presented Vicki with a card, a present, and flowers.
The creative skills of our girls have been on show once again, with Ashley and Scarlett completing woodwork projects this term. Both girls are highly skilled, and their furniture is a work of art.
Keeping busy during their spare time, Laura has been sewing while Maggie has been working with tiny LEGO.
Jess has finished this fabulous jigsaw, finishing two in the last few weeks.
Matilda, in year 11, played in the winning team in the recent Sally Shippard Shield for Kildare Catholic College. Matilda is a dedicated soccer player and a positive member of our boarding community. Scarlett recently took part in our Year 12 Mass by reading Acknowledgment of Country.
Hannah and her mother, Jaime, recently took part in the City to Surf run, completing 14 km in 1hour 32 minutes. Well done! Hannah has been running with her mother for the last 3 years. Both enjoy spending time with each other.
Maisy, who is in Year 11, has had a busy year. In April, she sailed on the Young Endeavor, providing her with new skills such as snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef. Maisy is a keen sportswoman. This year, she has played in the Group 9 second round league tag and the under-18 CCC League. She will also play in the CCC touch NSW over the next term break. Mia, also in Year 11, has been completing a work placement in childcare. Both girls are great role models in Nagle House.
The Tumbarumba Roos started their season strongly, with 6 consecutive wins before losing their first to Corryong. They later lost again to the same team, bringing them down to 2nd on the ladder. After losing to Corryong again in the first finals game, it was crucial that they won the next, which they did by 82 points, securing the Roos a place in the grand finals on the 23rd of August. Lachlan Nagle and Kieran Middleton were both invited to a league medal. Kieran ended up winning the league's best and fairest. This weekend, the boys go against Corryong in the grand final.

Alex and Jeremy recently took part in the 2025 Creed Cup. Their first game was against Christian College, which they won 3-1. Following this, the week after, they played against Mount Austin, which was a close game in which a last-minute goal secured Kildare's victory. Finally, they had to play Wagga High, the hardest team in their pool, who they had to beat to progress to the finals, and although Kildare held the ball for most of the game, they unfortunately lost. Alex held captaincy throughout the three games.
Carter took a trip to Wollongong to represent KCC in a rugby league carnival. They played three games, lost two and won one, the last game was against Wollongong, which they lost by four. Wollongong went on to win the competition. Carter had a great time.
