Principal’s Report

Pupil Free Day

Please note that Wednesday 13th of August is a Pupil Free Day.  The focus of the day is Spirituality.  The day focuses on the theme Pilgrims of Hope and will be presented online to all staff from Catholic Education Sandhurst.  We are delighted to host our friends from St Peter's and Doxa. YMCA OSHC are offering full day care at St Therese's school (Please see their page for details).

Naplan

Earlier this year grades 3 and 5 took part in NAPLAN testing. Results from this assessment were sent home to families last week.

Division Sports

Over the next two weeks we have students from across the grade 6 (and some grade 5s) unit representing St Kilian’s at the Division Football and Netball. We wish the teams the best of luck and hope all players enjoy the experience.

Unit Assemblies

Congratulations to the Prep Unit, teachers and students, on your wonderful assembly on Monday morning. Students did an excellent job, navigating both nerves and excitement with such confidence. It was clear they loved being on show in front of their parents and special guests. Well done to you all, you set the bar high! We are looking forward to the grade 4s in a fortnight.

Our next assembly will be hosted by Grade 4 Unit.

We would like to families to Coffee Time before assembly, supported by Percy and Percy.

Winter Warmer Fundraiser

Beanies, scarves, warm jumpers — the snugger, the better! What’s for lunch: Warm up with a simple, hearty meal: Cup of soup + a slice of bread = $2.50 (order via QKR) All proceeds go to support those in need this winter. What to bring: We are collecting donations of new Donations of Scarves, Socks, Beanies St Vincent de Paul. Let’s help bring warmth to those doing it tough this winter.

Learning Conversations

Learning Conversations are held over the next two weeks on the following dates: Tuesday 29th July, Wednesday 30th July and Tuesday 5th August.

Learning Conversations are a valuable opportunity for parents, students, and teachers to come together to reflect on learning achievements, review work samples, and set goals for the remainder of the year. These 15–20 minute meetings allow students to share their learning journey, describe challenges they have faced, and identify areas for future growth. We strongly encourage all families to take part. If you are unable to attend during these times, please contact your child’s classroom teacher to make alternative arrangements. PAM does not send a confirmation email for your interview time.  You will find your interview time listed in the “Booked times” section of Parent Teacher Interview Booking.

Principal’s awards

Congratulations to the following students on their Principal awards. George has embraced his Peer Mediator role with maturity and care. During recess, he actively supported students with calm empathy including kneeling to speak at eye level with younger children and responding thoughtfully to their needs. When unsure how to assist he responsibly sought help for teachers.

Oliver receives a second principal’s award for the year, showing exceptional maturity in his Peer Mediator role, responding thoughtfully and reliably to his peers. His calm presence and consistent dedication reflect a strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to making our school safe and welcoming.

Liam and Alfie showed great initiative by collecting sports equipment at the end of lunch, saying they were “trying to leave no trace.” Their thoughtful actions reflected care for their environment and set a positive example.
