Inquiry

This term in inquiry, our overarching topic across all year levels is perspective. Students will:

  • explore how our cultural background and experiences shape our  perspective,
  • consider how life has changed and stayed the same through generations,
  • develop inquiry skills through questioning and exploring artefacts, and
  • analyse historical events  from various perspectives, including  First Nations Australians.

In the younger year levels, our inquiry will focus on understanding how we can learn about the past and how life has changed and stayed the same through generations. It might be a good opportunity to come in and share your old record players and dial telephones!

Our older grades will inquire into how colonisation impacted different individuals and groups of people, learn about the reasons, causes and effects of colonisation and discover why it is so important to listen to different  perspectives?

The Year 4 - 6 students began a new round of electives on Wednesday afternoon. Steph lead a photography group, Anna's group will explore different outside games and some yoga and meditation and Kathryn will lead a kitchen/garden group. This term the kitchen garden groups will have the exciting opportunity to participate in the Intergenerational Gardening Program. Adults of all ages are welcome to participate in the program. Our students would love to see you there!

The Prep - Year 3  students had their first new round of rotations on Monday afternoon. The Year 3s had a kitchen garden session with Kathryn, the prep/1s made some great domino lines as part of STEM with Ellen and the Year 2s had the chance to make some ice cream in a bag as part of science with Kim! I bet it was delicious!
