YEAR 10 KEY INFORMATION: WEEK 4

Please note: Students in Years 10 & 11 must bring their Sports Uniform to

change into if they have HPE or Sport on Tuesdays.

SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENT LEARNING (SEL):

This week, we will begin our Social and Emotional Learning Program (SEL) for 2025; our focus in Semester One will be Career Education. The first stage of Career Education is AWARENESS; throughout Term 1, the students will learn more about themselves and how their personal skills, values, and beliefs can influence their career choices. They will gain an understanding of the world of work by investigating 21st Century Skills for work and researching careers of interest. Term 1 will culminate in work experience, an exciting time for the Year 10 and, for many, their first foray into the world of work.

TRANSITIONING INTO SENIOR SCHOOLING:

Year 10 is a transition year, where students can begin to prepare themselves for Senior schooling in Years 11 and 12. Developing strong study habits in Year 10, such as having a dedicated study space at home and planning their week around extracurricular and study, can significantly reduce stress. If you notice your child is struggling with their current course of study, please connect with their Pastoral Mentor or subject teachers, who would all be happy to help.
