Principal's Message
From the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
On behalf of Mrs Fairhall, our teachers, our support staff and Mrs Lindsay-Thus, our Family Educator, we warmly welcome our parents and caregivers back for the start of the 2025 school year. I'd like to share this prayer with you for the start of our journey for 2025.
The Jubilee Prayer
Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us
in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your Kingdom.
May your grace transform us
into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos
in the sure expectation
of a new heaven and a new earth,
when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,
your glory will shine eternally.
May the grace of the Jubilee
reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread
the joy and peace of our Redeemer
throughout the earth.
To you our God, eternally blessed,
be glory and praise for ever.
Amen

We are delighted to invite you to a special celebration at our school on Thursday, 13th March. On this day, we will have the honor of welcoming the Sisters of St Joseph of Orange, a congregation deeply significant to our school's history.
It was in 1950 that the Sisters of St Joseph of Orange founded Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School, and without their dedication, our school would not be what it is today.
To commemorate this occasion, we warmly invite you to join us for an afternoon of celebration, including a BBQ lunch at 12:30 PM. Stay tuned for further details, and be sure to save the date—we look forward to celebrating together!
Please see below the most recent Sydney Catholic Schools Parent Charter.
The intention of this Charter is to outline the principles and expectations that underpin the relationship between parents and schools as we work together to build school communities based on our enduring values of faith, hope and love.
Should you wish to communicate further about this charter you are welcome to contact the school office.

Part of your child's school journey is looking ahead to the next step. Should you have a child who would be interested in coming to Our Lady Star of the Sea in 2026 we invite you to come along to an Open Day that will be held during Sydney Catholic Schools Week.

If your child is currently in Year 5 you may wish to go along to one of the upcoming High School Open Days. Please see the below flyers advertising these events.

Lastly, if you would like to volunteer your time to assist the school in any way, for example at an excursion, you will need to complete the Parent Induction with Mrs Louise Fairhall. There are two opportunities to do so:
Monday 17th February and Friday 21st February
(Straight after the Gathering and Assembly in the Library)
God Bless,
Mrs Maria Rose
