It's been a jam packed month in the Physical Education 'Classroom'.
Our Foundation students have been developing an awareness of their bodies, their surroundings and the idea of fair play by playing games like 'Builders and Bulldozers', 'Pizza Maker' and 'Octopus'. They have explored different ways to use their bodies to balance and complete obstacles, move safely with scooter boards or bounce and throw various types of balls.
In Year One and Two, students developed their teamwork and problem solving strategies in a number of physical challenges early in the term. They are completing a unit focusing on the fundamental movement skills of throwing, catching and kicking.
The Year Three to Six students are all halfway through a unit on 'Invasion/Territory Games', developing their teamwork and game sense in attacking and defending spaces on a court or field. They improved their passing, dribbling and shooting skills while playing modified games based around netball, basketball and AFL football.
