Principal's Message

What a fantastic fortnight of learning we have had. It has been wonderful to see the children settle into their classes and build connections with their new teachers and friends. 

Meet the Teacher

We are excited to announce that Roxburgh Homestead Primary School will be hosting a Meet the Teacher event on Wednesday 26th of February. This event will be held over WebEx and in person and is open to all families and students. Students are not required to attend school on this day except for their scheduled face-to-face meeting.

This event presents a valuable opportunity for you to connect with your child's classroom teacher and specialist teachers to discuss important aspects such as:

- Your aspirations for your child

- Understanding them as a learner

- How they are adjusting to their new classroom and learning environment

- Their interests and strengths.

We recommend reflecting on the above points before the event to help guide the conversation. We are eager to hear your insights and perspectives.

How to book a meeting: 

To make a booking, please access the 'Conferences' menu on your Compass app. From there, you can select a teacher and time slot that suits you. Each conference will last for 15 minutes to ensure that all families have ample time. If you require more time, we can arrange a subsequent meeting on another day. Please make only one booking, either for a face-to-face or WebEx meeting. 

If needed, interpreters can be booked through the Compass system when selecting your time slot. For assistance with the booking process, please reach out to our school staff.

WebEx:

For those selecting the WebEx option, you will connect using the classroom teacher's unique link, which will be provided closer to the date. Please ensure your camera is on and functioning before the meeting. 

Face to Face:

Families attending in person should check in at the office building before heading to their child's classroom.

Toplantı rezervasyonu nasıl yapılır:

Rezervasyon yapmak için lütfen Compass uygulamanızdaki 'Konferanslar' menüsüne girin. Oradan öğretmeni ve size uygun olan zaman aralığını seçebilirsiniz. Tüm ailelerin yeterli zamana sahip olmasını sağlamak için her toplantı 15 dakika sürecektir. Daha fazla zamana ihtiyacınız varsa başka bir güne bir toplantı ayarlayabiliriz. Lütfen yüz yüze veya WebEx toplantısı için yalnızca bir rezervasyon yapın.

يسعدنا أن نعلن أن مدرسة روكسبر هومستيد الابتدائية تستضيف حدث "لقاء المعلم" يوم الأربعاء 26/2/2025. سيتم عقد هذا الحدث شخصياً وجهاً لوجه او عبر ويبيكس WebEx وهو مفتوح لجميع العوائل والطلاب. لا يُطلب من الطلاب الحضور إلى الدوام المدرسي في هذا اليوم باستثناء الحضور الى الاجتماع المقرر وجهاً لوجه.

هذا الحدث يقدم فرصة قيمة لك للتواصل مع معلم الفصل الخاص بطفلك والمعلمين المتخصصين لمناقشة الجوانب المهمة مثل:

- تطلعاتك لطفلك

- فهمهم كطلاب متعلمين

- كيفية تكيفهم مع الفصول الدراسية الجديدة وبيئة التعلم

- اهتماماتهم ونقاط قوتهم.

نوصي بالتفكير في النقاط المذكورة أعلاه قبل الاجتماع للمساعدة في توجيه الحديث اثناء اللقاء. نحن متشوقون لسماع آرائكم ووجهات نظركم.

School Council:

I had the pleasure of meeting with our School Council this past Monday night. This was a wonderful opportunity to learn about how the community has experienced our school over the past few years. To further my understanding, I have sat down individually with all staff members at Roxburgh Homestead throughout the past fortnight. This has been a great experience, and I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the wonderful staff who work hard every day to support your children. 

From these experiences, it struck me how aligned our families and staff are regarding ongoing school improvement. What is clear to me is that everyone in our community wants to see all children succeed and I am proud to have joined such a caring and hard-working community.

One area that everyone seems to be crying out for is an increase in community events. This is something that I am particularly excited about as I know how important the connection between families and the school is. There are some passionate School Councillors who have some fantastic ideas to bring us all together. If you would like to get involved in planning school community events, please reach out to the school office, and register your details. If there are enough people interested, I’d love to put together an event planning sub-committee in the future.   

Ramadan: To all the families in our community who celebrate, we wish you a peaceful and joyful Ramadan. Having spent considerable time in this region, I appreciate how meaningful this time of year is for many. On behalf of all staff at Roxburgh Homestead Primary School, we extend our warmest wishes to you and your loved ones.
