From the Principal

The students have commenced the school year with such a positive attitude and eagerness to learn. Over the past three weeks, I have been particularly impressed by how the students have demonstrated the key qualities of great learners, such as giving things a go, collaborating with their peers, and setting high expectations for their achievements. It's been wonderful to see the staff and students celebrate both big and small successes along the way. I am especially proud of our new Foundation students, who are happily adapting to their daily routines, learning to follow instructions, and developing important social skills as they work cooperatively with others. Their enthusiasm and energy are a joy to watch, and I look forward to seeing them continue to thrive throughout the year.

Student Leaders

Tomorrow, Friday 21st February at 2.45pm, we will be having our regular fortnightly assembly. At this assembly we will be presenting student badges to all our student leaders. Parents/carers of individual students have received a personalised invite to attend but it would be great to have many of our families attend this special assembly to celebrate student leadership in 2025. Student leadership empowers students to take responsibility, build confidence, and develop important skills like communication, decision-making, and teamwork, all of which help shape them into positive, proactive contributors to their school community. Let’s all celebrate our student leaders tomorrow!

Parent Information Sessions

Parent Information sessions are coming up! All parents/carers have now received the link to connect to this online session. Please make the time to attend so you can meet the teachers, receive important information about school routines and hear about the learning and education of your child/ren. It is also a good opportunity to ask questions and clarify information. At the end of the session, you will receive a ‘Getting to Know your Child’ questionnaire to complete so you can share any personal information with the teachers that will further support your child’s learning and wellbeing.

Family BBQ

Our annual Family BBQ will be held on Wednesday 12th March 4.30pm – 6.30pm. Put this date in your calendar now! More information to come about this important school community event which builds connections and promotes the positive home/school partnership we deeply value!

Inclement Weather

Our school has processes in place to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students during hot weather. On days when the temperature exceeds 35°C, we keep the children indoors in air-conditioned learning spaces. Since the start of the school year, we’ve experienced some extremely hot days, prompting us to implement these processes by shortening outdoor playtime and having students remain inside for recess and/or lunch. We will continue to monitor weather conditions and temperature updates on hot days to make necessary adjustments.

Annual privacy reminder for our school community

Our school collects and uses student and parent personal information for standard school functions or where permitted by law, as stated in the Schools’ Privacy Policy and the Schools’ Privacy Collection Notice.

Our Photographing, Filming and Recording Students Policy published on our school website, describes how we collect and use photographs, video and recordings of students. The policy also explains when parent consent is required and how it can be provided and withdrawn.

We ask parents to also review the guidance we provide on how we use digital technology safely at the school and what parents can do to further protect their child’s information. If after reviewing the guidance, you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school.

For more information about privacy, refer to: Schools’ privacy policy: information for parents. This information is also available in ten other languages.
