Welcome back to another exciting year at Greensborough College! As we begin 2025, our dedicated English teachers have been hard at work planning and implementing the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 to ensure students continue developing their literacy skills. It has been wonderful to see students settling into their new classes and engaging with their learning from the very first week.
A special welcome to our new Year 7 students, who have completed their PAT-R testing as part of our ongoing commitment to understanding and supporting their learning needs. After careful consideration of these results, along with other transition data, selected students will soon begin in our High Achievers class. This program aims to extend and challenge students who demonstrate exceptional aptitude in English, providing them with opportunities to enhance their speaking and listening, reading, and writing skills.
This year, we are excited to welcome new teachers, Sarah Dodd, Aidan Clarke, Taylor Witkin to the English Learning Area. Their new ideas and enthusiasm will be invaluable as we continue to support students in achieving their best.
As we embark on another year of learning, we encourage all students to embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead. Whether it’s through wider reading, refining their writing, or engaging in rich discussions, we look forward to seeing their confidence and skills grow throughout the year.
As always, we encourage parents to be in contact with their child’s teacher should they have any questions, concerns, or information that will help them to best support the child’s learning and overall wellbeing.
Here’s to a fantastic 2025 in English at Greensborough College!
